A U.S. private equity firm needed a quick and easy way to share fund data with its LPs – and an equally effortless transition to the new platform they were adopting.

Golden Gate Capital is an American private equity firm with more than USD 15 billion in AUM. The firm makes investments in select industries, including technology, financial services, retail and industrial, through leveraged buyout transactions, as well as significant minority purchases and growth capital investments.
“We migrated to Intralinks’ InvestorVision™ this year, and we have been very happy we did. Let me start by saying the migration team was amazing! They took the time to explain the timetable and understand our current entity, investors, contact, and document layout in Intralinks. We met every Friday to discuss each step of the mapping process, and if there was something unique, they always had a creative solution.
“We were provided access to the test environment so we could see the data being loaded and become familiar with how InvestorVision worked prior to going live. They would drop mapping files to us on a shared drive weekly and I would review/return with updates. They did an initial data pull from Intralinks in the summer, and then did a final pull of any additional uploaded documents just prior to our go-live date. They never pressured us on the go-live date, and our team received excellent training.
“InvestorVision as a new portal requires letting go of the folder concept and embracing the tagging of documents by type and entity. We really appreciate how much more organized our documents are since the transition. Most importantly, it’s wonderful not to move in and out of exchanges but to view an investor once with all entities and documents visible in one place.
“Another big feature we love is the ability to upload documents without the use of Intralinks Designer. InvestorVision uploads are faster, and we can “Stage” a posting for review by our team and even schedule a publish date and time. We can create custom document notifications by type of document and easily view those sent to each investor with alerts as to what notifications failed. The portal provides us the ability to create seven different user roles, so they are only permissioned to see certain document types. We can now not only view as a user but also see what activities they performed (view, downloaded) while logged in to the portal.
“Overall, we have been super happy with our transition to InvestorVision.”
